Custom Validation
Custom Validation allows you to create your own [custom] validation. The work would be completed by the LeadByte support team so you will need to raise a support ticket if you want to implement your own validation. The team will review your request, the service that you want to call and whether it is suitable and reliable to use.
Why use Custom Validation?
The validation services that we provide (such as email, phone, IP, postal) may not be enough. You may need to ping an external service to further validate and/or enrich the leads you generate. You may wish to integrate a service that increases the value of a lead through enrichment or required to validate whether the lead can be sold and to whom. Since launching Custom Validation in BETA we have integrated the following types of services to provide you with context:
- Social Security check ID verfication
- Lead scoring
- Broadband lookup and Energy Provider lookup based on address
- Phone number ownership validation
- Business verification
How does it work?
Once a custom validation service is integrated and enabled against a Campaign, every lead that comes into the Campaign will be run against the service. The lead will be accepted, rejected or quarantined based on the rules that have been setup in the implementation. You can also use data from the response to enrich a lead. For example, you may call a broadband checker service which tells you which broadband provider a house uses. From the response, you could store the provider against an existing field in the Campaign which would be later used to route the lead to a Buyer.
Note, this service is not run when using the legacy classic API to submit leads.
How to get started?
Firstly, you need to raise a support ticket outlining what service you want to integrate. You will need to provide the API instructions to the service so we can review and test.
Associated costs
Integrating a service is billable time, you will be given an implementation price by the support team. Furthermore, each request is billable. Each request is recorded and will be added to your invoice.
Where can it be implemented?
Custom Validation is a service that runs at Campaign level and is only available if leads are submitted via our REST API (not our legacy, classic API).
