Export - FAQ

Why does my Export contain more leads than the number shown at the search lead screen?

When selecting specific buyers on your export configuration, leads that have been sold to multiple buyers will show multiple times on your export.

How can I rename my fields when exporting leads?

In the 'Set Field Display / Order' section, if you tick 'Customize' you can edit the labels for any of the field names so they'll output the data for the field into the export but the column will be renamed to whatever you want it to be.

How do I include the time/date the lead was received when exporting?

In the fields section, if you select 'Received' this will include the time/date the lead was received into the LeadByte system.

How can I export a campaign but compare it to another campaign so it only exports leads where the email (or phone number) doesn't also show up on the other campaign?

For the campaign you want to export, if you go into the campaign settings and scroll all the way down to the advanced settings at the bottom, you should see a setting called 'Export comparison field'. This can be set to email or one of the phone number fields.

If you set this to Phone 1, when on the export screen choose the campaign you want to export (the one you just configured the setting for). Then you should see 'Only if' and 'match NOT in campaign'. Ticking both and then choosing the campaign you want to compare against in the dropdown will only exports leads that don't show up in both campaigns.

How can I schedule exports to run automatically?

Exports can be scheduled through 'Delivery' -> 'Manage File Schedules'. The exports can be delivered via Email or FTP & the frequency/date range of collected leads to send can be customised.

More information can be found on the File schedule deliveries explained article.

Can I save exports as a template?

File schedule deliveries can be used as templates as they can be saved and copied afterwards. The schedule can be set to manual to prevent any active scheduling on the template.

You can also alternatively save the custom field mappings in the 'Remember This Export For Next Time' ->
'Load stored mappings' section that appears after selecting a campaign.

When creating an email file schedule, you can also save the email layout you have created as a template by clicking the 'Save as template' button underneath the email creator.

Can I export leads that have passed validation?

If you would like to only export leads that have passed validation, you can set the 'Only Export Where' rule at the bottom to 'HLR Status' IS 'Valid'

Can I export leads and include columns and value that are not stored against a lead?

Under 'Set Field Display / Order' if you click '+ Add Custom Field', you can then give the custom field a label and give it a static default value.

In my email export, can I include a count of the leads?

Yes, if you include the tag [expcount] into your email body, this will convert to the amount of leads exported.

When scheduling an export to run automatically, if I select Custom does the first run include all leads?

When you select 'Custom' schedule, the first run will only include leads that have been received in the time between you clicking save on the schedule to the first run instance. Any previous leads received from before the schedule was created will not included.

If an export schedule fails, how do I know?

If you go to 'Delivery' -> 'Manage File Schedules' and click on the 'Logs' tab. You can see here if any exports have failed.

I want to be sure that exporting leads in an email schedule is safe and secure. What would you suggest I do?

We would recommend enabling a password on your zipped file, if appropriate you can also enable encryption.
